Your CAT examination question paper has 3 subjects/ sections :-

  • VARC i. e Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension

  • DILR i. e data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning

  • QA i. e quantitative Ability

----------------------) VERBAL ABILITY AND READING COMPREHENSION ( VARC) :- Reading  is the key to score good marks in VARC, you need to go through newspapers, articles, journals, etc so that you can improve your reading skills. While reading note down the new words and write their meanings to improve your vocabulary. You need to practice questions based on comprehension, para jumbles and inference.

Unlike maths, there's no formula in DILR so practice is the key, the more you practice, the better you get.

----------------------)QUANTITATIVE ABILITY (QA) :- First clear your basics of maths,  you need to go through topics like profit and loss, geometry,  Arithmetic, number system, Time-Speed and Distance etc . Avoid the use of calculator so that you can do improve your calculation speed. For each topic, you can write down important fomulas and short tricks on a sheet of paper so that it's easy for you during revision.

Greetings Aspirant,

I hope you are doing well. The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer based test for admission in a graduate management programs. The test consists of three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Ability (QA). The exam is taken online over a period of three hours, with one hour per section.

CAT syllabus 2021 is broadly divided into three sections: Quantitative Ability (QA); Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR); and Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC).

The following are the syllabus sectional division with overview of topics in cat system along with their weightage in cat examination.

• Quantitative Ability (QA) - Arithmetic, Modern Math, Number System, Algebra, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Geometry- 34%

• Data Interpretation (DI)- Data Charts, Data Tables, Bar Graphs, Venn Diagrams - 16%

• Logical Reasoning (LR)- Seating arrangement,Team formation, Clocks & Calendars, Direction Sense, Family Tree- 16%

Verbal Ability (VA)- Jumbled Paragraphs; Para- summary Picking the Out of context sentence from a jumbled paragraph- 10%

Reading Comprehension (RC)- Long & Short Passages- 24%

CAT 2021 exam date is November 28, 2021. The exam will be conducted in three slots of 2 hours each. This year CAT Exam syllabus is changed as per the changes in CAT exam pattern which will have fewer questions this year as compared to last year.
