Hello,

Centre for Historical Studies (CHS) Jawaharlal Nehru University is one of the most competitive Centre in the world. The unique style of learning makes it most attractive. The university have not provided any specific syllabus regarding entrance test. I suggest you to go through the previous undergraduate syllabus only. All tye questions will come from there only. You can take help of NET exam papers or preparation books. The University authority has given some recommended readings which are as follows

4- Ancient India by D.N.Jha

Medieval India

5- Medielval India published by NBT written by Irfan Habib

6- Medieval India by Satish Chandra

Modern History

1- Modern India by Sumit Sarkar

2- Plassey to Partition by Shankhar Bandhopadhya

Additional Readings

Indian History: Bibliography Alam, Muzaffar.

The Crisis of Empire in Mughal North India: Awadh and the Punjab, 1707- 48. Delhi: Oxford University Press, 1986.

Good luck.
