I hope you know that fees of BITS Pilani is going to increase every year by around 12%(although the maximum % by which it can be increased is 15%).

Considering the percentage hike to be 5%, your overall expenditure would be around Rs. 20.5 Lakhs.

Considering the percentage hike to be 10%, your overall expenditure would be around Rs. 21.65 Lakhs.

Considering the percentage hike to be 15%, your overall expenditure would be around Rs. 23.4 Lakhs.

Keep in mind there is a scholarship MCN( Merit cum Need) available, which is given to around 27% of the students based on their CGPA. Students are given 25%,40%,80% scholarship on their tuition fees.

The total four year fee structure for pilani is divided into year to year fee. The first year total tuition fee is 1.59 lakhs with advances and annual charges concluding to 2.10 lakhs/year. Hostel fee is semester bound which is upto 21,500/ semester. So, combining college+ hostel fee, it may cost upto 2.6lakhs/year.

BITS Pilani is one of the most expensive Institutes of engineering in India. It has hiked the prices for most of the courses in the recent times...



As far as college fee is concerned,  the college fee for a single year sums to about 6Lakh rupees per annum and the hostel fee including mess and electricity charges is 70k per annum.



So for a complete duration of 8 years,  the total could be nearly 27 to 28 Lakhs.

After considering all the expenses, including food, transport and other expenses, the money to be spent on a 4-year B.E. course sums up to about Rs. 18 Lacs, i.e. Rs. 4.5 Lacs per annum.

At present, the fees to be paid is about Rs. 1.75 Lacs per semester. And by personal experience, I can say that there is an extra disbursement of around Rs. 25000 per semester. Which accounts for expenditure of Rs. 2 Lacs per semester, i.e. Rs. 16 Lacs for the total course of 4 years.

Keeping in mind the annual fee hike of BITS Pilani, additional Rs. 2 Lacs must be added to the lump-sum, giving a net expenditure of Rs. 18 Lacs.

Also, there are many scholarships provided by the institute, (including Merit-cum-need and other scholarships) which are helpful for the students.
