- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering i.e.GATE is an entrance exam conducted at the national level in India with an aim to examine the understanding of various engineering and science undergraduate subjects.
- The use of GATE exam is that it is for admission to M.Tech programmes offered by government( like iit , nit etc) as well as many private institutes. You can use your GATE scores for admission purposes in the IITs through the Common Online Admission Portal (COAP) for IITs and CCMT for NITs or even apply to leading PSUs which recruit on the basis of the same.
- It is a national-level post-graduate entrance exam that is jointly conducted by the seven IITs i.e. Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Guwahati, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.
