Hi #SD7 New,

NEET is a national level medical entrance exam used to get admission in government/private medical colleges for MBBS, BDS, BPT, Unani courses. It has four main sections:

a) Physics

b) Chemistry

c) Botany

d) Zoology

There is a 1/3 negative marking. A highest score one can get is 720, as each question is worth 4 marks, and there are 180 questions total and it's a 3 hour exam. NEET is conducted in May every year by CBSE.

As per the weightage of NEET if you mean the importance of it, it is crucial exam if you want to get into a medical college in India. NEET scores are accepted nationwide in all states except by AIIMS, JIPMER and CMC Vellore. These 3 institutes are exempted and they conduct their own medical entrances for admissions. The remaining colleges must take admission based on NEET scores and ranking.

Students use online resources for studies or they generally join coaching such as Allen or Aakash centers to improve their prepartion for NEET UG. Along with NEET UG, there is another exam NEET PG meant for MD/ MS admissions.

Here's a link to help you understand more about NEET:

Hope this helps!
All the best :)

Hey Aspirant !

Although there isn't any mention regarding the weightage on the official site, but it's a seen fact that there's normally a 50-50 distribution of Class 11 and Class 12 subjects.

You can go through the link mentioned below to assess the assumed weightage of different chapters to help you out.

Hello

In the official syllabus for NEET, specific weightage is not assigned to any chapter. So, firstly and most importantly, you should cover each and every topic and chapter in NEET syllabus and clear your basics in all the chapters and not just the important chapters for NEET.

Based on the analysis of the previous year NEET question papers, i am providing a list of all the important chapters for NEET and the chapter wise weightage in every subject in NEET.

NEET 2020 Important chapters in Chemistry

Organic Chemistry section carries more weightage in NEET exam. So, your conceptual understanding in Organic Chemistry should be absolutely clear and strong. You should also practice the following important topics thoroughly to develop your application skills and test taking abilities for scoring well in the NEET exam:

Equilibrium

Chemical Bonding and Molecular structure

Electrochemistry

Chemical Kinetics

Coordination Compounds

Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids

S, P, D and F Block Elements

Hydrocarbons

Atomic structure

NEET 2020 Important chapters in Biology

Ecology is the most important topic for NEET in Biology. On an average, 12-15 questions are asked in the NEET exam from this topic every year. This is an easy and the most scoring topic in biology.

Human Physiology and Plant physiology are equally important for NEET 2020. Together around 20-25 questions are asked from these two units in the NEET exam. These important chapters demand clarity of concept as more application-based questions are asked in the exam. You should practice these topics thoroughly.

Genetics & Evolution is another very important chapter for NEET. Evolution is very easy but you need to understand and practice the concepts in Genetics as much as possible.

Cell structure & Function also carries a good weightage in the NEET exam.

Another very important chapter in NEET is Biotechnology. This is a small topic, easy to understand but scoring.
