what is UGC-NET and what are the subject required to clear this exam?

UGC NET is basically conducted by NTA to determine the eligibility criteria for JRF and Assistant Professor in various Indian Universities, you can appear for both or either of the the two, there is no upper age limit for assistant professor, however for JRF it's 30 years for general category(last year due to covid however it was 31 years), age relaxation is offered to reserved categories as well, now UGC NET is conducted for a total of 81 subjects, and the eligibility criteria is passed master's degree in any relevant discipline from a recognized University securing 55% aggregate, there is relaxation of 5% for reserved categories, if you qualify JRF you can pursue higher studies such as PhD, and you will also get regular stipend, there are also recruitment in PSUs and various companies for those who are awarded JRF NET, in case of assistant professor as NET is conducted at national level, you can try for the recruitment of the post in case of vacancies in any college all over India, however you must remember that merely qualifying UGC NET and having relavant degrees are not enough, your teaching experience in terms of presentation, communication, interpersonal skills are taken into consideration, of course if you have published papers in research,that too adds value, you achievements beyonds academics too matter immensely regarding this, hence you can work upon these areas if you aim to become assistant professor in future.
