UPSC, (Union Parliament Service Commission). This body is responsible for appointing candidates for various posts of governmental departments like
IAS- Indian Administrative Services (DM, SDM, Deputy Collector etc)
IPS- Indian Police Service (SP, DSP, SSP etc)
IFS- Indian foreign service
IRS- Indian Revenue service
These are the top posts after clearing UPSC exams.
One has to just be a graduate from any stream, not even post graduate to be eligible for UPSC, it doesn't matter what UG or PG degree you have if you're graduate, you are eligible. Here's the detailed eligibility criteria for UPSC
1. A candidate has to be an Indian for the post of
IAS and IPS.
2. Age limit
General and EWS candidates- Maximum age 32 years, Number of attempts- 06
OBC- 35 years, Number of attempts- 09
SC/ST- 37 years- Unlimited attempts
PWD- 42 years, Genreal and OBC PWDs- 9 attempts, SC ST PWDs- Unlimited.
This year UPSC has invited 712 vaccancies. The UPSC will conduct exam in three phases i.e.
1. Prelims-
2. Mains-
3. PI- Personal Interview
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of performance in Prelims exam for Mains
After Prelims, Candidate will be selected for Mains and then for PI round after clearing Mains. Every year approximately 500000 aspirant fill the form of UPSC exams.
UPSC important dates 2021
Preliminary exams- June 27th, 2021
Mains exam- September 17th to 22th, 2021
Last date to fill UPSC form is March 24th 2021 till 6 PM.
