Dear Suresh

CAT is a sort of an elimination round. The real battle for seats start with GWPI rounds.

WAT is a part of process for most colleges especially CAP process of new IIMs. The topic is generally given on the spot and you have to write on it for about 10-20 mins. The topics are fairly common and mostly related to cureent affairs.

Hope it helps.

They generally give a recent type of topic that is either from general knowledge or some recent happenings in the world or maybe a dilemma kindof situation that requires some opinion of yours to test your knowledge.

Examples of topics can be.

#Metoo

#Demonetisation

#GST

#Newspaper reading gets u misinformed but not reading it gets you uninformed.

Coherence of the idea you present, and the way you take a stand matters alot.

Hope this answers your query.

All the best.

Written Ability Test or WAT is a part ofselection process for admission in IIMs.In this test, you are given a topic and asked to prepare a write-up.It usually lasts for 10 to 15 minutes. Topicsmay range from politics to economy to marketing and other current affairs. The main thing they test is your ability to put your thoughts in structured and presentable way, your thought process, knowledge and language skills. All the best!

Hello Suresh,

WAT is basically Written Ability Test which is taken by IIM'S and Many other Institutions.

It generally includes pen paper based of 10-20mins depending on Institutions.

In which, basically we have to write on given topic for aboout 400-600 words. In some cases they can ask you to summarise during PI and Ask questions based on it or elae direct evaluation.

Hope it clears your doubts. All the best for your future endeavours.

Feel free to contact incase of any queries.

Thanks.

Hey dear WAT are tests conducted by certain IIMS and Symbiosis institutes to check your written and grammatical skills they would provide you a recent topic and ask you to write 600 words .

And will ask for elaboration or explanation!

Hi Aspirant,

WAT is basically a pen paper test of around 15-30 minutes which is conducted by most of the IIM's to test the shortlisted candidates before admission. This test has replaced the traditional round of GD and here candidates are required to pen down their opinions about a certain topic given. In the recent years, the weightage of WAT has increased to 10%.

The topics given in WAT are usually about Business,Economics and Finance,Social,Political,Religious or may contain topics of National or International affairs.

Hope this helps.
