These uncertain times come and I think the first thing students should realise is that while it feels tough but this will pass so you have to somehow find a way to be there when things start to get better.
I would suggest 2-3 things such as: ask people for help, take up a job in a different sector or take up an internship and work somewhere so that you are learning something and not just sitting around.
The last thing you should do is to learn something that will help you in a new job when it comes or when the industry starts to recruit again. You can join courses at Harappa or any other online courses to learn something that you have always wanted to learn. I think you should extend your education in areas where you have a choice.

Hey there
It's not like placements are stopped or is not going to happen. See there is economic crisis but that is for short term new investments are most likely to come from China to India and it may boost the economy so I suggest not to leave preparation for placements. Also you can prepare for any competitive exams for backup in case situation gets worse.
