What is your review of Zakir Hussain college?? I consider taking admission there. So is there anything I should know about before admission?

Reputation as against other Colleges: If today the college is not considered as reputed as it is supposed to be, its only because of Religion and Politics. Since the people practicing Islam were a minority during the British Regime, and post Independence, neglect and anti-Islam rhetoric was prevalent, creating a deplorable idea about the college, though the college is very secular in its outlook. The reason I feel that is that when Delhi was under a Muslim leader in the 1700s, this college was the hub for knowledge. But as regimes changed, that changed. So yes, Religion and Politics played a major role.

Academics: The college offers 19 courses. Arabic and Persian are one of the few courses that is still considered a big thing here as a pride for the college, but often neglected when one weighs it against the Westernizing narrative. But just to indicate these two languages relevance, when oil-rich countries look for people to work for them in plump positions and remunerations, they mentions these languages as a must. So well, not as bad as it should be, right?

Zakir Husain Delhi College is one of the oldest institutes of North India. It is more than 300 years old. It stands by its heritage value. Hitherto prime minister Ms Indira Gandhi laid the foundation of the college. It boasts of one of the best infrastructures of University of Delhi. The library and the Auditorium is actually a state of art! The college is lush with greenery and exotic flowers for which we have rewarded the 1st position in Flower Show every year. The faculty and the administration is well disciplined and serious for our studies. The societies are flourishing and hardworking. And the friends you will make will stay with you throughout your life. What else do you need from a college? Go for it!

They have their own college placement cell. Companies like Abott, Reliance, ICICI bank and many others visit our campus for recruitment. Major placement happens for Commerce students. However a few companies come especially for Science background students as well. But it's rare.
