D. Pharm course is a career-oriented program in the areas of pharmaceutical sciences. It introduces the students to the basic concepts of pharmaceutical science and prepares them with the necessary skill and academic knowledge to secure positions in retail pharmacies for pharmaceutical companies. Diploma in Pharmacy (often shortened as DPharm or DPharma) is an entry-level tertiary pharmacy credential.
You can get job at drug stores of private or government hospitals. You can work in health clinics, NGOs, community health Centre by checking the prescriptions, dispensing medicines and give them advice and directions. It is obtained following two-year of training. Pharm holder can also enroll for a professional (undergraduate) degree course of Bachelor of Pharmacy via lateral entry scheme.
Many hospital pharmacists still elect to go with the white coat while working or making rounds as a sign of their profession. Some also prefer to wear a tie. The Pharmacy alumni Present entering students with a white coat, the symbol of Clinical service and Care.
The students also take the Oath of a Pharmacist, a pledge of professionalism. Many colleges of pharmacy now hold a “white coat ceremony” at the beginning of the school year to welcome the new student pharmacists. The white coat is thought to be a symbol of professionalism, and many pharmacists wear their white coat while working or making rounds in the hospital. White coat or Apron is worn by Pharma students at the time of Practical only. Others prefer to wear scrubs when working in a hospital or Clinic.
