Hi Shubhi.

Greetings.

After completing your Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, you can have these designations as your job.

  • Becoming a  TV correspondent
  • Investigative journalism
  • A reporter like crime reporter, Page3 reporter, sports reporter etc.
  • Scriptwriter
  • Director of photography
  • Art Director
  • Public relations
  • Radio Jockey (RJ)
  • Event Manager
  • Sound Mixer
  • Handling legal matters etc.

Evident from the above points, we can understand that Mass Communication has a wide scope.

Thank you. I hope this helps.

Hello Shubhi, you can get jobs in several sectors with a Bachelor's degree in journalism and MC. Traditionally, the sectors that would open up to you include news reporting on TV and in newspapers, news editing and managing public relations(PR management) of companies.

There are also several unconventional roles, like authorship, human rights activism and event management with these degrees.

You can also choose to be an entrepreneur and start your own blog or media channel for communication with the world.

Or you can take open-to-all exams like the UPSC for government jobs.

This is a very broad question. Journalism and Mass Comm is a vast field, having subject areas like print, tv, radio, advertising, new media, production, films, PR. If you are pursuing a bachelors degree, you will be taught everything under these subjects. Later you can pursue a PG or masters in a specialisation you are more inclined to. The job depends on what specialisation you have studied and opted for as a career.

Broadly, you can have a job in,

News channels
Newspapers
PR and advertising firms
publishing houses
production houses
digital website etc
