This is done by doing various researches, surveys, observations. They research about people, groups, cultures, social institutions and find out how they work & apply them into real world. Sociologists study people's interaction, activities, processes, lives, stimuli.
Sociologists are specialized in various fields like - health, marriage, education, family, population, public policy, poverty, crime etc.
