SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) offers several scholarships, fee waiver schemes, teaching and research assistance to meritorious and deserving students. A large number of students tremendously benefit from such schemes. Every year around 2500+ students are benefited from this scheme and a total of 29 crores of scholarship amount is distributed among the meritorious students.

To encourage and support students of exemplary talent, several scholarships are instituted to recognize excellence in academic, sports and deserving candidates. The quantum of scholarship and the number of scholarships are subject to change from time to time. such as; Founder's Scholarship- This scholarship is for B.tech student only, SRM Merit Scholarship-Another category where B.tech students can apply and avail their scholarship, Social Economical Scholarship- A special category meant for meritorious students those are socially and economically backwards. The scholarship is recommended by Puthiathalaimurai Foundation, Agaram Foundation, CORA Trust, Ramakrishna Mission etc.

However, there is no scholarship for an MBBS, BDS and all PG Medicine programs and Allied Health Sciences. student at present in SRM, Chennai. The university is looking forward to facilitating the process and candidate will soon be notified if any such notification comes up in the future.
