HI Aspirant,
JEE Mains and JEE advance are two common entrance exams for engineering program in various institutions across india. JEE Mains is of total 300 marks and JEE Advance is of 366 marks.
If you aiming for top rank below 300 in JEE Mains, You should secure Marks above 240 according to previous year 2020 merit rank list data.
If you aiming the same in JEE advance, You secure marks above 260 to get rank below 300.
But Cut off ranks and scores depends upon the number of students applying for that particular year. So It varies every year. for this year 2021, there were around 22 lakh Applications for JEE Mains and 1.6 lakhs for the year 2020. The more the students apply, the more the competition and rank distribution. Hope you find this information helpful. All the best for your exams.
Thanks & Good luck!..
Dear candidate, score above 180-190 in JEE Main to get rank under 300 in SC category. It is very difficult to predict SC rank vs marks for JEE Advanced as it depends on the number of SC candidates giving the exam after qualifying JEE Main and difficulty level of paper. However, at 300 marks you will get 300 AIR(General) around in JEE Advanced.
Hope, it helps!
