Hello!
Jee advanced is the examination for admission to various programmes as different IITs. This is exam is conducted via two papers,
  1. 9-12 am, Shift 1 or paper 1
  2. 2-5 pm, Shift 2 or paper 2
Both the papers are compulsory for the candidate to appear in if total marks of paper 1 is x and that of paper 2 is y, then your evaluation will be done on x+y marks or x+y is the total marks of that jee advanced.
As stated earlier unlike different shifts of jee mains in which you need to appear only in one or even unlike jee main paper 1(for engineering) and paper 2(B.Arch),both
paper of jee advanced are of one exam only and you need to appear in both.
hope this helps
Thanks and regards
Ayush
