After clearing UGC NET with good score , one is eligible for the post of assistant professor / junior fellowship in indian universities and colleges . If he/she score a really good score he / she is awarded as the JRF ( junior fellowship award )  by recognized institute / universities .

Hey!!

After clearing UGC NET exam one is eligible to apply as a lecturer in any college affiliated with any university i.e., government and private and is recognized under UGC India. But if you want to be an assistant professor then you can further go for Ph.D. and apply for same.
