What people usually do after clearing jee mains exam?
JEE Mains is one of the most trying entrance exams across India. Students across the country aspire to crack this exam and start their engineering career by enrolling into an IIT. This year only about 11,000 IIT seats are available for engineering and architecture students, and another 25,000 seats are available for admission in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs collectively.
With so many students trying to capture these limited number of seats, there may arise a situation where you give it your best shot but still somehow fall a little short of attaining the required score. However, that doesnt necessarily mark the end of your aspirations in the field of engineering, there are a number of options open for you that you can choose from and have a successful career ahead.
Here are 5 options that are open to you after JEE Mains:
Try for admissions in NITs:
After IIT, you can apply for admissions in a NIT. Most NITs are on par with IITs and it is a better alternative than wasting an entire year and reappearing for JEE Main next year in the hopes of gaining admissions in an IIT.
Apply to IIITs, GFTIs, and Government Colleges:
You can try and visit a student counsellor after JEE Mains results if you are confused about what to do next. However, any counsellor worth his or her salt will tell you that after IITs and NITs, applying to IIITs, GFTIs, and government colleges is your best option. All of these institutes produce exceptional professionals every year. You could be one of those professionals if you dont lose time and apply to these institutes.
Start Attempting Other Engineering Exams:
There are a number of State and University level exams that you can appear for to pursue a career in engineering. MHT-CET, comedk, SRMJEE, BITSAT,VITEEE are some examples of these highly reputed exams. It is wise to have a backup plan of this sort so that you do not end up wasting any time after the JEE Mains results.
Reappear for JEE Mains:
If you are firm in your resolve to join an IIT, then you can reappear for JEE Mains. You are permitted to attempt the exam twice. Now that you have the necessary coaching and experience in attempting the exam you can strengthen your focus and reappear for the exam by preparing for them on your own. Of course, you can always seek additional help and enrol yourself for some sort of coaching if you feel like you need some extra help.
Consider Applying to Private Universities:
Over the last few years, there are a number of excellent private universities with comprehensive curriculums where you can apply. Some of these universities have their own entrance exams so it is best to make the necessary inquires when seeking admission. Private universities offer students a high quality education, one that rivals IITs and MITs across the nation. Some of the famous private universities all over India are:.
1.birla institute of technology and science(pilani)
2. Vellore institute of technology (Vellore)
3. RV college of engineering(Bangalore)
4. SRM UNIVERSITY (chennai)
5. KIIT University (Bhubaneswar)
Hope this has helped you.
Hello aspirant,
There are two things that candidates can look for after the JEE Main result is declared. JEE Advanced if they are amongst the 2,50,000 students who have scored equal to or above the JEE Main cut-off. The second step is admissions through JoSAA or state.
there are many engineering entrance exam options that can get you a seat in a top engineering college. There are state-level & private engineering entrance exams through which you can grab a seat in one of the prestigious engineering institutes.
Thankyou
