The exact percentile cutoffs can vary from year to year depending on the overall performance of students. For the most accurate information, it's recommended to refer to official CBSE statistics or reports released by credible educational institutions. Consulting with your school or educational counsellor can provide insights into the recent trends and cutoffs for percentile rankings in CBSE 12th board exams. To be in the top 20 percentile in the CBSE 12th board exams, you would typically need a very high score.
Hello,
Josaa released cutoff for top 20 percentile of 12th boards which can use by the candidates to check whether they are eligible for IIT and NIT ,through JEE MAINS/ADVANCED.
From previous years trends it is 430 marks approx out of 500 for top 20 percentile.apart from this candidates who got 75% in 12th also eligible for IIT and NIT.
Hope it helps!!
Hi
Top 20 percentile is issued by josaa each year for each board. Anyway, For cbse board, in general top 20 percentile is roughly is 85-86 percent in 12th for general category. For example, In 2018, for general category, 432 out of 500 marks i. e 86.4 % marks was top 20 percentile for cbse board.
You can check the same at https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/top-20-percentile-of-class-12-boards-for-nits-iiits-and-cftis
Am assuming you are asking abou this to be eligible for NITS etc. You need to have 75 % in 12th if belongs to general category or needs to be in top 20 percentile. So, even if you get 75% you will be eligible for NITs etc.
