what percentage of mbbs seats in telangana are given to andhra students?
Hi aspirant!
85% of MBBS seats in all government colleges located in the state of Andhra Pradesh are allotted to students who are native to the state. Apart from government colleges, management quota seats as well as NRI Quota seats in private medical colleges are allotted by NTR University of Health Sciences.
students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will be able to participate in the all India quota. This means that 15 per cent MBBS and BDS seats available in government medical and dental colleges in the two Telugu states will be available for students from other states. Similarly, candidates from the two Telugu states will now be able to avail seats under the all India quota.
total MBBS SEATS are:
Govt Quota – 1325; Mgmt Quota – 921; NRI Quota – 404

Dear Aspirant,
There are almost 4890 mbbs seats in the state of Telangana. Of these 1740 seats are allowed in the government/public medical colleges. Of the number of mbbs seats available in the state, 85% of the seats are reserved for the state quota students i.e. only for those who have a valid Telangana state Domicile. The remaining 15% of the seats is reserved for All India Quota students i.e. students from the states other than Telangana can apply for these seats. Therefore, the students of Andhra Pradesh can apply for the 15% of the seats( including government and private Medical college seats). The candidates from the entire country who have secured the better ranks in NEET shall be given preference to fill up the 15% of the seats. If you are a student from Andhra Pradesh and you have a good NEET rank, then you too can apply for the same. This is the norm for every state as the home state students are given a larger preference hence the 85% seats goes to them.

There is no fixed number. If a student has domicile of Telangana, he can participate in 85% of the State Quota seats in Government Medical Colleges and 100% Private Medical Colleges. If no, he can participate in 15% All India Counselling for Government Medical Colleges and Management quota of Private Medical Colleges. Now AP and Telangana have 3 areas called OU, AU and SVU. To be called a locale of that area, a student should have studied in that area for atleast 4 years. For example, if a student studies in OU area for 4 years atleast, even if he belongs to AP, he can be considered locale for OU area. The same goes with AU and SVU. So it depends on the students who have studied there and not on the no.of MBBS seats.
