To become a professor, you need to have a total of 10 years of experience, of which you need to have a minimum of 4 years of experience as an Associate Professor or a designation in an equivalent position. The experience can be in the fields of teaching or research or it can also be industrial.

Hope it helps you

Thank you

Hello,

You have to have a PhD in the required field along with at least one post doctorate. Plus your research papers should really be in reputed international journals. This is the required eligibility to apply for the post. However after you apply to a particular IIT, based on your profile and research area they may or may not shortlist you for the presentation. Suppose if you get shortlisted, you will have to give a powerpoint presentation covering your research work and and future plans for the same (like which field you are willing to work in). If all goes well and the present faculty like you, you are in.

BEST OF LUCK.
