Hi Rajkumar,

Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is going to commence the counselling for admission into IITs, NITs, IIITs, IIEST and GFTIs on October 6. In order to get the best possible College, it is very crucial to fill the choices wisely and correctly. In listing the preference order of college, it is always recommended and fruitful to put the top colleges and branches on first. These are given the first priority. Although it is not necessary, it ensures that you get the best possible College according to your rank. However, you should also note here that you should take care of what you are getting based on your rank according to previous year cutoff and should make the preference accordingly. You can take the help of JEE Main college predictor tool by clicking on the following link to know which branch and college you can get based on your rank according to past year data. https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

So you should include both what you can get and also the top colleges for which your chance is lesser.

Hope it helps you.
