According to previous years JEE advanced rank cut off for Computer Science Engineering in IIT Dhanbad, the opening rank was 1182 and the closing rank was 2940.

Hello Shalu, Assuming you're from general category, 33% marks should suffice if the paper is average. If the paper is difficult, 25% marks should do. If you score 38–40% marks in advanced, you're in ISM. Although the discipline wouldn't be the one of your preference, but you don't seem to be into that. Don't fret, we have a very lenient programme for changing disciplines. If you maintain your GPA, you can easily change your discipline during third semester. In these last two years, almost 100 students out of 800 approx got to change their discipline to CSE owing to their marvellous academic performance.
