Hi

This is a bit difficult to predict the marks/percentile/rank required in JEE mains to get a seat in nit  as cut off  keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like  number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the jee main examination , number of seats available for the branch you want etc.

When we go through previous year trend then ,

In round 6 of josaa counselling 2020 , under other state gender neutral to get computer science engineering   , closing rank  in nit trichy for different categories is provided below:-

B.Tech/B.Arch Admissions OPEN

Apply to KL University B.Tech Admissions 2025

Category                      closing Rank

General/open                   781

EWS                                    153

OBC ncl                              242

SC                                         198

ST                                         51

In above data , rank for general /open represents crl while rank for rest of the categories represent category rank

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

So, for open state, for obc category 242 was  closing obc rank , and 242 obc rank is around 1000 common rank i. e around 99.91 percentile which is around 260 marks as per predictor at

So, you must target at least 260 marks .

Above prediction  is on the basis of past year data but  cut off/closing rank for colleges keeps changing every year depending upon many factors like number of students that appeared in the examination etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

hello,

The cutoff changes every year due to many factors like total students appearing for exam, difficulty level of paper,no.of seats availability etc.but based on previous year analysis and data, considering tamil nadu as homestate ,for obc category the last year cutoff is 2008 by rank.which means atleast 99 by percentile or 99+. with marks 160+.

for more information regarding cutoffs refer to: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-nit-trichy

hope this helps,

thankyou.
