According to me, Choosing Mechanical at BITS Hyderabad would be better if the location is not an issue for you. Here are some pros:-

• The fees is less than BITS Pilani.
  Civil in Pilani is for 4.2 lac per year
  Mechanical at Hyderabad is for 3.5 lac per year
• The placements for Mechanical are much better than Civil.
  
• BITS Hyderabad has a better location and facilities than BITS Pilani.
  
  The only convincing factor for Civil at Pilani would be that it gives you better options to pursue Government jobs in future.

With regards to the question I want to mention that engineering branches do not matter at all if you want to shine in life.If you like mechanical engineering then you must go for it or if you like civil engineering then you should go for the same.Its totally your choice.But based on current scenario and placement opportunities mechanical engineering have an upper hand compared to civil regardless of college.But its also possible that a student from civil engineering branch may grab the highest lpa in their whole batch.So now its your choice.But I personally would suggest to go for mechanical engineering in BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus.Wishing you good luck

Both the mechanical as well as civil branches are core branches which will always have scope in future be it in job or elsewhere. Campus wise Pilani Campus is better than Hyderabad Campus. So the choice depends on which subject you are more interested in. If they have equal priority then Pilani Campus would be your choice.
