what should I chose BDS or nursing

Hi,

No profession is less then other. It depends on what is your interest. Nursing is decent but you will not be called doctor doing nursing whereas dentist are doctors definitely. And on other hand if your motto was to do charity and you could not go for MBBS unfortunately then nursing is for you. If this question has come to your mind then the simple answer will be nursing . I'm saying this because of the job opportunities you get after a nursing degree . While as dentistry is good but it's more like starting a business , some succeed some struggle . A few do very well while as the most of dental graduates are not satisfied with their opportunities.

BDS is good for self employment .In Govt Service , dental doctor gets same salary as MBBS doctor

B.Sc Nursing -less salary ,but easy to get job .There is good demand for nurses abroad .

So, in my opinion you should go for Nursing.

• The scope is good.
• Nobody goes jobless after becoming a nurse.
• There are areas like hospital management, rural management , public health sector where there is scope for nurses.
• Nursing officer exams have good pay scale and repute. (Today Nursing is open for even boys )
• Nursing tutor , teachers ,are always in need.
• One can easily go abroad and practise.
• Good scope of nurses in Army . (A special cadre of posts exists) only females allowed.
• India and Singapore are in a mutual agreement where one can practise in either of the two countries if one has studied from one of the few premium institutions like DY patil , AIIMS Delhi, Manipal , etc .
• Health ecosystem cannot survive without nurses.
