Hi Aspirant,

For becoming a pilot, after 12th you need to possess a SPL (Student Pilot License). You must have passed intermediate with science and aged at least 16 years to obtain it.

To obtain it,you should first register with a flying club recognised by the DGCA,after which an oral examination follows.Successful completion of the examination entitles you for the certificate.

Hope this helps.

hello rishab.

In next few lines I will explain you the path to become a pilot.

Eligibility:

· 10+2 with 50% in Physics and Math.

· Medical Class I and Class II (Medical fitness should be in accordance to DGCA guidelines)

Steps to apply:

1. Now the very first step is to get Medical examination 2 done. Only after Medical exam 2 reports, one can apply for medical certificate 1. Just visit Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Government of India’s website and they have a long list of doctors who are certified to issue that certificate.

2. Next step is to apply to the respective flying school and clear their entrance exams to get through one of these:

APFT., Hyderabad

Academy of Carver Aviation, Baramati

Ahmedabad Aviation & Aeronautics Ltd., Ahmedabad

Chimes Aviation, Sagar, (MP) Madhya Pradesh- call in October

Govt. Aviation Training Instt., Orissa

Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Udan Academy, Raebareilly

Madhya Pradesh Flying Club, Indore

National Flying Training Institute, Gondia

Besides these few colleges which are the top ones, one can also look at the of other flying schools as listed by DGCA http://dgca.gov.in/licencing/fly...

In the above mentioned Institutes students can complete CPL. However attaining CPL allows one to fly CESSNA (small planes). In order to fly Bigger Airplanes one needs to attain TYPE RATING certificate. The full fledged course (CPL plus Type rating) can be done from Cadet Pilot Program (Indigo and Jet Airways Cadet Programs at National Flying Training Institute, Gondia).

Here is the list of Licences that one will be trained on in the flying school/you can attain them without going to a flying school:

Oral test is conducted by Chief Instructor at flying school or by DGCA representative. Eligibility: student should be of 16 years of age, should have cleared 10th standard and should be medically fit as per DGCA guidelines.

Private Pilot License (PPL): Private Pilot License should be attained if an individual has to fly his/her own plane. In order to attain, one needs to go through ground training for 4 months and fly for 40 hours. Eligibility: The candidate should be at least 10th passed and minimum age should 17 years.

Commercial Pilot License (CPL): This License is of utmost importance in order to become a Pilot and being eligible to fly on National and International routes. Even if a person does not attain SPL and PPL one can directly work towards attaining CPL.

In order to become a commercial pilot, individual has to attain Commercial Pilot License (CPL). The process to attain the license is explained here:

5 exams for India: In order to get through Indian Flying School, student needs to clear these 5 exams: Technical, Radio Telephony, Regulations, Navigation and Meteorology

3 exams for Abroad: In order to get through Flying School Abroad, one needs to clear 3 out of 5 exams, Regulations, Navigation, and Meteorology.
