Getting a Masters in Business Administration degree provides you with a jump start in your career and there is undoubtedly a lot of growth awaiting you. Post MBA, there are various paths you can take up basis what you see for yourself in future.

  1. Already have a job in Hand - If you already have a job, take this break for yourself and plan some vacation time. Have fun and enjoy as much as you can because in Job you may not get so much leisure time.
  2. Searching for a job but don't have the required skill set -
    • If you are looking for a job outside the domain in which you have majors, or if you are looking for a job in a specific domain, it is best to develop your skill set for that job/role/industry.
    • There are a host of short term certification courses available online which you can leverage to enhance your skill set. Below I have provided a list of courses which you can take up for skill development.
  3. Looking for the right role -
    • If you are looking for the right role and already have the right skill set then you must focus on getting some corporate exposure or work experience.
    • You can join a small business or a startup as these provide you very challenging roles and an overall outlook about all the functions of the business.
    • You can also take up some small freelance projects in the field of your interest
    • A lot of companies also provide internships - both full time and part time. You can take up these internships and learn on the job so that you have a hands on experience. This will also boost your decision making ability and give you a boost in your interviews.
  4. Shortlisted by companies but not clearing Interviews:
    • In all the above cases, I mentioned how you can enhance your skills and personality to make yourself fit for the corporate world.
    • In this case, you have the required skill set due to which companies are shortlisting you. Here the main problem is that you are probably unable to project your capabilities completely.
    • Focus on your interview skills. Analyze your profile and identify your strengths and weaknesses. Work on answers to basic questions like - Tell me about yourself, why do you want this role etc. Be prepared to face any in-depth questions about yourself or your previous experiences too.

The above points would keep you occupied during the time as you get prepared for your next job.

All the best!
