Hey!

Astronomy is a science subject that studies the physical cosmos, with a concentration on events, objects, and phenomena that occur outside of the earth's atmosphere. In a nutshell, astronomy is the detailed study of everything outside of the earth's atmosphere, including the moon, sun, planets, stars, and much more.

Eligibility criteria for Astronomy vary every university, depending on their preference in prior degree course scores or grades, as well as required background subjects of study.

  1. Candidates must achieve a minimum of 50% in all courses and above in 12 grades after averaging their grades.
  2. Candidates must have finished their 12th grade in science with math and physics as subjects.
  3. Astronomy admissions are either based on an entrance exam or on merit, depending on the institution's criteria.

After completing your 12th standard, you can give exams like IISER Aptitude Test, IIT JAM, JNUEE to get admission in this course at undergraduate level.
