Guidelines to fill up the Application Form

The application processing fee: Rs. 1250/- (One Thousand Two Hundred & Fifty only)

plus applied taxes is required to be paid online along with the submission of filled-in

• All the Mark sheets of B.Sc. or other qualifying Bachelors degree. (Scan copies of all the mark sheets of year /semester to be uploaded as a single pdf document )
• S.S.C. Mark sheet
• H.S.C. Mark sheet
• Passport size photograph
• Specimen signature
• Leaving certificate

Students are admitted in M.Sc. Biotechnology Programme through a National Level Entrance Exam conducted by Nirma University.

Available seats for M.Sc. in Biotechnology per academic year : 40



Eligibility Criteria

A student seeking admission to M.Sc. Programme must fulfil the following criteria: The candidate should have Bachelors degree under 10+2+3/4/5 pattern of education in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Bio-technology, Agricultural, Veterinary, Fishery & Dairy Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine (MBBS), BDS, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Medical Laboratory Technology Sciences, BHMS, BAMS, B. Tech./B.E. Biotechnology, Physiotherapy or Biomedical Engineering with at least 50% marks as aggregate of all the semester / years.



Admission Procedure

Candidates who have appeared for the final semester of qualifying examination can also apply. In such case, the candidates are required to submit the results as soon as they are available either by fax or by email(scanned image).

If the applicant has passed the qualifying examination from a University other than Nirma University, he/she will be required to obtain Eligibility Certificate from Nirma University. The arrangement for obtaining the same will be made on the spot on payment of Rs.1000/- at the time of admission.



Selection Procedure

Admission will be granted purely based on merits obtained in the Entrance Test conducted by the Nirma University. The test will be based on the undergraduate syllabus of Chemistry and Life Sciences. There will be 100 objective type questions of 100 marks. The duration of the test is one and a half hour. There will be no negative marking.

In case of equal score in the entrance test, the aggregate marks of the qualifying examination will be considered for determining the merit. In case of Result Awaited category, aggregate marks of all the previous years / semesters will be taken into consideration for determining the rank.
