There was a rumour that UPSC will remove all the Optional subjects and make subjects like Law, Economy, etc as mandatory subjects. Now that is still a speculation. Unless you hear it officially, you cannot believe anything that you read or hear. And technically scrapping off optional subjects doesn't fit inthe eligibility criteria because in such case not all Graduates will be eligible for UPSC. Because the eligibility criteria says that a Graduate in any discipline is eligible for UPSC. Scrapping off the optional subjects means crores of aspirants will become ineligible. That is not a possibility. So please do not believe any speculative news but always wait for official confirmation.
hi,
see you did not mention which exam you are preparing for. however if it is mandatory to take one of the subject as optional you have to take it. also if it is mandatory and mentions that the subject should be in your graduation course then you need to re think about the examinations you are preparing for. now it s depends on you that whether you can grasp up another subjects and to continue the preparation.
