What should I score in mechanical paper out of 100 to get a rank below 500 and 1000 respectively? ... What is a good score for PSU's?

The toppers of GATE of any stream is mostly above 95%
When we look at the previous results of GATE Mechanical Engineering, the topper of 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 was 94.66, 94.85%, 96.83%, 94.75% respectively.
The PSUs recruit the top 10% students only. So, if you want to be hired by any of the PSU and get a rank between 500 to 1000, then you will need to score a percentage in the range of about 88% to 95%, i.e., 88 to 95 marks out of 100.
