It largely depends on what you’re looking for. Both the fields are synonymous to each other in the fact that both require good storytelling and design abilities. The application is where both fields depart, with game designing focused on the development of video games, and animation being a general, more flexible alternative. Game designing also requires proficiency in programming, which animators may or may not have to learn. So, it’s a good practice to research job opportunities and roles during your education planning.
