Dear Student,

I'm not pretty sure whether the tips mentioned below would cater to all the needs for the survival of a freshman at BIT Mesra but I really hope that it will help one in their struggle for doing so.



1.) Do not take your academics for granted and constantly try to maintain a good GPA(by saying this I mean 7 or above). This is a common suggestion given by almost everyone to almost everyone before joining a college. But trust me that's the reason this is on tip no. 1.



2.) Try to interact with your seniors as well as your batch mates for a broad spectrum exchange of ideas. There are times when guidance can really prove to be a ray of hope after a tiring struggle.



3.) In leisure time, engage yourself in as much of productive work as possible. Try to attend workshops, seminars, join clubs, particate in events, etc. The college has something or the other going on all the time.



4.) Do not over burden yourself with work or expectations. Try to discover your strengths and your weaknesses and constantly work towards upgrading the current version of you.



5.) Always make sure that you attendance is 75% (or above in most cases, in each subject). Students mostly have a notion that college is homologous to proxies and mass bunking lectures. But BIT takes attendance issues very seriously and you wont be allowed to give your end semester exams if your attendance is below 75%.



6.) Make sure you use the facilities provided by the intitute wisely, which includes library, gym, laboratories, sports complex, digital library and many more.



7.) And last but not the least do not forget to explore the beautiful campus of BIT Mesra because it actually offers one of the most scenic college campus of India. So gear up to showcase some cool photography skills if you have.



The college life has a lot to offer only if you reach for it. So, welcome to BIT and cheers to the new beginning and amazing moments waiting ahead. :)
