Hello,
JEE is a journey that not everybody can complete in the first attempt. If you are a JEE dropper and have failed to clear JEE in your first attempt and you have decided to go for a drop it’s perfectly normal, trust me you can do it this time. Don’t keep any doubt in your mind. I think it is really important that you understand something that both Will Smith and Chris Gardner has said – There is no point in having a plan B because it only messes up plan A. So here are some of the things I would suggest-
- It’s completely up to you, but my suggestion would be you should not join any college in your drop year. Just pay attention to only one thing and that is cracking IIT with flying colours.
- Preparing for JEE by staying back at home for one year is really difficult job. Especially when you see your friends enjoying in college and having the time of their life. Don’t worry you will have better time in college when you get in IIT which is far better than what most of your friends have achieved. It’s completely worth giving the effort of an extra year.
- Just don’t pay any heed to people who say you will waste a year.
- Now coming to how you should prepare in your drop year. You must start early. Don’t waste time deciding if you should drop or not. And start practicing from day one. You just have a year. You don’t have school so try to follow a strict routine.Let’s say you have one year which is 365 days. Now if you you study for 11 hours a day. That makes it 4015 hours. Which is 2,40,900 minutes. So you have 1,44,54,000 seconds to prepare for JEE. That is a lot of time if you prepare sincerely. So don’t panic and stay calm.
- Also make sure you complete the syllabus for class 11 by the end of July or by the middle of August at max. Now you have to start with the syllabus of class 12 and try to complete it by the middle of January at max.
- Now that you are done with your complete syllabus start with practice. Just practice and keep practicing 1000s of sums. This your last chance so give everything you have and go get IIT.
- In one day you must revise at least two chapters from all the three subjects, from the notes that you have made. Also you must devote at least 3 hours to practice new and advanced sums. Hope it help you .
