Hello,
First you have to be graduate then after you have to do further process .
Police sub-inspector (S.I) eligibility criterion you must be graduate from a recognised university. So you can study in any subject of your interest and once you are graduate you can appear in recruitment test for S.I.
Beside the education qualification there are various other eligibility criterion mentioned below:
Age: 21yrs to 30 yrs for UR category. For SC and ST candidates there are relaxation of 5yrs in upper age limit and OBC there are 3yrs age relaxation in upper age limit.
Height: Height should be minimum 168cm for men and 152.5cm for women.
Also there are other physical test like long jump, high jump etc for the selection of S.I.
In the written examination for S.I recruitment there are total four papers.
. English
. Arithmetic and Reasoning
. General Studies (include general science, Current affairs, history of India, Geography of India, Indian politics and Indian economy).
So to prepare for the written examination you need to study on the above mentioned topics. You can buy some good books from market and study from there. Also you must read newspaper regularly to be strong in current affairs.
You can also join a police after 12th as constable and become SI after few years by departmental exam .
Best of luck
