Hello aspirant! It is just that you can pursue any course to be eligible for the Civil services examinations. To make your preparations easier, you may choose the streams that include the syllabus of UPSC examinations. Some BA courses that fall under this category are :

  • BA in History
  • BA in Political Science
  • BA in History and Political Science
  • BA Geography
  • BA Economics

Out of these BA in History and Political Science would be the best because it covers major part of the UPSC Syllabus.

All the best!

Hi,

For UPSC, the subjects do not matter at all.  However, if you are pursuing B.A. (General), it would be better if you choose optional subjects according to the syllabus. UPSC syllabus includes History, Political Science, Economics , Geography. So, it would be better if you choose subjects from these options as it will also help in UPSC preparation.
