Dear Selva, Deemed Universities are well within their rights to set up their own syllabus. They can design their own curriculum as well. But if you look at most of the Deemed Universities MBBS syllabus, they follow the same MCI drafted syllabus. MCI is the only authorised body for restructuring and revamping the MBBS course in India. It doesnt necessarily mean Deemed Universities follow that.

Deemed to be universities are not established by government and so they can design their own examination and also the syllabus for a course.

The total syllabus may be not same as the syllabus by MCI, but there will be some similarities.

Deemed university has the right to carry on its own educational affairs. This includes the examination guidelines and also the course curriculum.
