Dear Debasmita, here's 10 steps that you can follow to score well in NEET 2020.

1. Be well versed with the syllabus

2. Be informed about the exam pattern

3. Be familiar with the exam schedule

4.The NEET Timetable

One common refrain heard everywhere is, “ Time is precious. Hence utilise it well.” All the 16 lakh plus students study the same syllabus for NEET. So what makes one succeed over the others? One factor could be better management of time. Now this is a broad term that involves all the following tips to give you an edge over others.

  • Start with a timetable that takes into account your school hours, time left to study for NEET, practise what you have read and yes, some leisure time.
  • Your time table should be such that it allows you to study, revise and practice each day.
  • Allow for short breaks in this timetable as “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”
  • Your time table should be timed such that you study the difficult topics multiple times and practice more number of questions and convert the difficult topics to easy ones.

5. Combine your hard work with smart work - NEET 2020 study plan

Once you have marked, easy, moderate, difficult, important topics in your syllabus, you must prepare a strategy based on smart work and not just hard work. Jayson Zabate rightly said,” It's not all about how you work hard but it's about how you manage your time, resources, mind to work together for a better output.”

Some important points to be kept in mind while preparing a study plan for NEET 2020 are given below.

  • Your study plan should revolve around three aspects i.e learn, revise and practice
  • Difficult topics must be studied thoroughly and wisely.
  • Break lengthy chapters into topics and sub-topics to make learning easy.
  • Make comparative charts for two or more relatable topics, terms or processes.
  • Create a list of important definitions, important formulas, important derivations in chemistry and physics and important diagrams in biology etc. and brush them up weekly.
  • Prepare mind maps, flow charts and ray diagrams for memory based topics while studying the chapters.
  • Set daily, weekly and monthly goals for yourself and try to accomplish them in the fixed time.

If you will follow all these points in your study plan, you will learn better and faster. You must remember, rote learning is temporary and only smart learning can help you in the long run in your how to prepare for NEET 2020 quest.

6. Effective study material - Know the best books

Since most of the questions asked in NEET are directly from NCERT in the form of one liners or statements given in the textbook, the focus should be on NCERT first and then on other books. To choose the best study material for NEET 2020, take help from your teachers or through online assistance. Also check for topper’s tips and tricks on how to prepare NEET 2020. A list of the best books for NEET 2020 for all three subjects is given here under:

  • Objective Physics by DC Pandey
  • Fundamental Physics by Pradeep

Chemistry-

7. Revise to analyse

It is believed that in order to retain information in your mind for a longer period, you should read it again and again. This is why revision is considered to be the most important part of NEET preparation. It is important and imperative that you revise what you have studied at regular intervals. While revising, analyse your strengths and weaknesses. Note down the concepts in which you are facing problems and the ones where the going is smooth. Focus more on your problem areas and work to make your strong areas stronger.

8. Practice till you succeed

Practice makes you not just perfect but also makes it permanent. So, the more you practice the more you possess the information in your mind. Since time limitation is a major challenge in NEET, tackle it by practising more questions. Try to solve mock tests in 2.5 hours rather than the given 3 hours. Figure out the concepts or topics where your performance is not good. Go back and study these topics again and practise them one more time. Your how to prepare for NEET 2020 plan will be successful only if you incorporate mock tests and more practice in it.

9. Track your progress - do better than yesterday

It is vital that you keep track of your progress. Note down how much time you take in solving each question. With every attempt, the time taken to solve a question must reduce and that is how you should measure your progress. Always try to do better than yesterday. Your confidence will grow by leaps and bounds when you will see yourself attempting more and more papers that too correctly. Make a report of your preparation of NEET 2020 and fill it after every mock test attempted. Gradually you will see a reduction in your mistakes as well as in the time taken and this will further motivate you.

10. Good health a necessity - take care of yourself

While hard work is essential for NEET, it must be noted that good health is a must for success in addition to all the above mentioned factors. Continuous thinking on how to prepare for NEET 2020 or how to crack NEEt can lead to serious negative thoughts and worry. Such thinking is best left alone and instead the time utilised on meaningful things. Eat good food, sleep well and study hard- these are three basic success mantras for any exam. Remember the word impossible can be read as “i-am-possible” while every “I can not do it” can become “I can do it”.

Take breaks as they are essential to relax the mind and help it cope with stress. Go for walks, play your favourite sport, listen to music or read books - whatever activity suits you and relaxes, just do it. Check inspirational stories to motivate yourself. Most importantly, believe in yourself and don’t give up.

All the best

Hope this helps

Hello dear candidate.

I recommend you to focus on your studies and follow a study time table which suits you. I recommend you to do Biology first, as it has the most weight age, thereby followed by physics and chemistry simultaneously. You must follow NCERT books first, before hopping on to other resources.
