There is a lot of ambiguity with regard to this question because of the way it is asked. How ever the answer should be the native state where one can produce one's native certificate or the study certificate..

The question is the state of eligibility for 15%AIQ seats. By asking like this one thinks that the 15%seats normally for out of state seats hence most students are committing mistake here. But, after ascertaining some information from the officials it is said that one should mention the native /local /study for more than 6yrs state to be mentioned  Because not all states are eligible for this 15%AIQ seats. Some states are having privilege to fill in the total seats with their own state people. Now a days except j&k. all the other states are covered for these15%AIQ seats. So, obviously, one should mention their own state as the eligible state. Those who have erred at the time of filling in their application  Can alter their options vide corrections during the time provided ie from Jan 14th to 31st Jan. This is only one time option. All the elevant mistakes can be corrected during the above period by logging in to their application by giving the password.

Some students entered wrong date of birth, some committed in typing errors. So all these can be corrected at this time only but that is the final. From there on no more corrections allowed.

Any state of your choice other than your native state. Because you stand to get 85%under your local state while you are also eligible for non local seats of 15%under non local in other state of your chice

Respected Sir, If what you say is correct, why doesnt the brochure ask candidates from J&K to fill any other state... Instead of filling J&K. Another thing, every candidate (except those from J&K) qualifying NEET is eligible for 15% AIQ seats around India... Not just in one state. I think it's you who are absolutely wrong and need to recheck your facts. If you still believe it's correct, kindly take pains to corroborate your claims with some official information from brochure maybe! Looking forward to further hearing from you.

Here, for jammu and kashmir there is a spe ial provision under constitution of India under article 370 where in the people of j&k are protected to remain in j&k, so they don't get the option to 15%outside their state  Unless and otherwise they give an undertaking.Secondly, there is no point in giving the native state as all India quota under 15%.because you are already co ered for 85%,quota as local in your state of nativity. This question will be there at the time of counselling. You need to produce your study certificate of continuous study of atleast six years.

If you wish to know further abt j&k, you can get the details by typing in article 370 in your Google browser. Hope your doubt is clarified  Otherwise you may still pose your questions in this regard. My aim is only to appraise you.

No Sir it hasn't been cleared. I know J&K doesn't come under 15% AIQ, but instead of going into that unnecessary discussion about which we both agree.... I am rather concerned about your assertion that student can write any state of their liking other than their native state. Kindly tell me please (since it will only help me answer better in future) that from where have you derived this and I can see it in brochure or somewhere official. Thanks for taking time to reply.

It is understood by all that there is 85% seats reserved for local and 15% seats are open /reserved for non local. In this non local only Nri would also fall. Local or non local is decided only by producing study certificate which is already mentioned in the information brochure for neet. Reg. Non local as there is 15% quota on all India seats , one can exercise this option by giving state option. This is the only aspect leading to all confusion. Instead they can very well consider all for non local seats by seeing their local status. However practically, it is not viable solution for considering these non local seats. Hence, they gave this question of AIQ question, THIS is only 15%.,and it is done based on the candidate given option of state. Those who compete for that particular state only be considered on merit. So, naturally merit , no. Of total seats would play important  role in seat allotment. If this question is asked, then what is the rationality of having only 15%quota.???All the local candidates are considered for 85% seats. For this, the candidate needs to submit study certificate.

Sir, by any chance do you mean to say that, if a candidate let's say fills 'Karnataka' in the State of Eligibility for 15% AIQ column, he/she will be considered for All India Quota seats available in only that state, Karnataka in our case? P.S. Thank you for all your time and energy. Be rest assured that I wouldn't stretch it unnecessarily.

What you are saying is absolutely correct. That candidate will be considered for karnataka state 15%of total seats available and the merit is among those who have applied to karnataka state under 15% AIQ.

Hello, As per your query i would like to tell you, As you said you are from Telangana you can fill Telangana state in   state of eligibility column.

From 2018, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana state joins and contribute to the 15% All India Quota seats.

So from this year Telangana students also participate in state quota counseling as well as for All India quota seat.

Hope it helps

Best of luck

Dear Mohan

Since you are from Telangana, you can fill Telangana in the state of eligibility column.

It might be worth noting that from this year onwards Telangana has also joined All India Quota scheme, wherein from this year candidates from Telangana will also be able to participate in 15% AIQ counselling and state counselling at the same time. Until previous year, candidates had to forgo one for other based upon their educational qualifications and several other factors.

I hope it helps.

All the best for upcoming exams!

For your information, the state of Andhra pradesh was united until a year or two years ago. A. P. also given declaration of protective practices for their educational institutions ie the seats will be filled up by their own people  So, they were also prevented for taking advantage for 15%all India quota. But, of recently  they too have opened their protective practices and their people are also eligible for all India quota.. The reason being the merit .

Please accept my apologies Sir. It's my mistake here for not clarifying better. When I said from this year onwards Telangana has joined AIQ, I didn't mean from NEET 2019 session, but 2018 session. I get your point about merit. Certainly, students with better ranks and marks get admitted under 15% AIQ.
