Dear Rachna, before NEET becoming the entrance examination for AIIMS and JIPMER, there are approximately 95,000 MBBS seats. Now AIIMS has approximately 1500 seats and JIPMER has 200 seats. These will be added to the existing 95,000 seats. And the Government plans on having 75 new Medical Colleges by 2020 which means approximately this will add another 7500 seats. So with one common entrance examination, there will be an increase of 10,000 MBBS seats available. Now when the availability of seats increases, the cut offs do decrease to an extent. The difficulty of the exam is directly proportional to your preparedness for the exam. If I haven't prepared enough an easy question might seem tough for me. But on the other hand if I have prepared well enough, I might find the exam paper easier.
