Dear Aspirant,
JEE MAINS is a national level exam for entrance to institutes of national importance like NITs, GFTIs,...other Govt. colleges. Being such a prestigious and highly competitive exam it will be surely challenging. Let me break your question into parts subject wise -
1. Physics - Both theoretical and numerical questions are asked , but mostly numericals. But then again strong theoretical understanding is neccesary for cracking these questions.
2. Maths - Now maths is purely numericals subject, but again like physics strong theory is necessary . There isn't much theory as compared to Physics , but if you are well versed with theory then JEE Mains maths is cakewalk.
3. Organic Chemistry- Purely theoretical ( except some topics like isomerism , GOC, some questions with mixed concepts may asked simple formula based numerical might be asked.) If you do theory well in this subject , this is surely a scoring section and it's easy too in most of the cases.
4.Inorganic Chemistry - Purely theoretical. NCERT will help you a lot for theory at least for Mains. If you are well versed with Inorganic theory then it will help you in solving Physical chemistry numericals. This is also a scoring section if theory is done well with strong conceptual and understanding .
5.Physical Chemistry- Most Interesting subject , involves good balance of theory and numericals just like physics. Numericals require good understanding of theory, also sometimes some common types of numericals are repeated every year. Also theory questions asked might be from NCERT straight sometimes.
