The seats were filled by KCET results before but from 2017 onwards seats are filled according to NEET results.

If you are from other states you'd be eligible for private seats on basis of general merit.

The score of 540+ in NEET 2020 will fetch you a private seat in karnataka at 7 lakh p.a. which coressponds to ranks around 10k-25k as the cut off was high last year.
Ultimately your targert right now should be on focussing on 540+ and daily revisions. The cut offs might vary due to the COVID19 situation right now.
