Dear Aspirant,
CAT is an acronym for common aptitude test. This is an aptitude test for the admission in top business schools in India like IIM, FMS, MDI, etc. The exam is an aptitude exam which tests for the following:
- Verbal ability and Reading comprehension
- Logical reasoning and data interpretation
- Quantitative aptitude
Verbal ability and Reading comprehension is as the name suggests consists of passages to read and then questions based on those passages. Verbal ability has parajumbles, summary, odd one out type questions.
Logical reasoning and data interpretation have questions based on reasoning and interpreting data given and answering questions based on that.
In quantitative aptitude, the questions from time speed distance, probability, Maxima minima, work and pipes and cisterns, algebra, geometry,etc.
The exam is of 100 questions divided in 34/32/34. To get a good college, you'll be needing atleast 160-170 marks. Marking is +3/-1.
