What will be salary after doing CAT ?
Hi Harshavardhan,
Thanks for A2A.
Firstly let me clear that CAT is an entrance exam to do MBA from B Schools in India. Many top B schools in India accept CAT score as the only medium of admission including the IIMs which are the best schools to do MBA from in India.
Now coming to what salaries can you expect after doing an MBA - it depends on a lot of factors. The college you are doing MBA from will decide how much you can expect. For knowing each college salaries you can look at their placement reports snd compare the averages. Generally, it is advised that you look at average CTC rather than highest or lowest. If you join any of the older IIMs you can definitely expect a salary of above 12 lakh fixed as an average candidate. The highest can be as high as a crore too for foreign roles.
In general, if you end up in any of the top 20 B schools you can definitel expect 8LPA and above fixed salary at the least.
The salary you receive will also depend on your profile because it is all relative. The best profile gets hired at higher salaries.
All the best.
Hello welcome to careers360.
CAT is a common admission test conducted by the IIMs in India it is a computer based online exam. I want to make you clear that there is a lot of competition for cat in India do you want to know how much the competition is, form 99.6% to 99.2% top 3 IIMs seats will be filled hope you understood that. I'm not discouraging you but I want to give you a brief Idea.
After getting good result in CAT people join in top Institutions for their master in business management or MBA . luckily of they join in top institutions then their minimum package will be 20 Lakhs per annum and top packages will be 75lakhs+ .
Good luck!
hello,
If you can get through any of the IIM's then your starting salary would range in more than 15 lacs an annum!
However if you do it from some B-grade college like BIMTECH, LBS, etc then it would range from 8-10 lacs per annum.
So the salary depends on what college are you doing your MBA from and not just CAT. I would also wish to tell you that MAT is a very easy test and so there are not many colleges under it which can offer high salaries. So I would always suggest that prepare well for CAT and crack it at your best.
