Dear Mayuri, a cut off is the least score that secured a seat in a certain Category. Now the cut offs might change every year but the formula remains the same. For a Candidate belonging to General Category, he/she should have scored 50 percentile of the top NEET score. It is 40 percentile for OBC, SC,ST. As mentioned earlier, the formula remains the same but the numbers change due to various factors like no.of candidates appearing for the exam, no.of candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. Now with AIIMS and JIPMER conducting their admissions through NEET doesn't affect the cut off formula. In fact, this will open up approximately 1700 MBBS seats along with approximately 7500 MBBS seats with the Government planning to start 75 new Medical Colleges for the next year. Every year we have almost an increase of 2 lakhs of students appearing in NEET on an average. The competition has always been there. But the formula remains the same. Its just the numbers that might change either for better or for worse.
This ebook serves as a valuable study guide for NEET exams, specifically designed to assist students in light of recent changes and the removal of certain topics from the NEET exam.
We cannot predict the cutoffs of coming years right? But yes cutoff did exceed a lot from 2018 going into 2019 due to reason like number of candidates had increased and also the paper level was called easy comparatively. And when all exams get merged, there will be a further increase in competition again as well, so the cutoffs might increase too. Anyways mention your state or a particular college, so we can provide you with its cutoff of previous years.. In general thinking, cutoffs for government colleges you need to get 550 and above to get one and to get the best, you need to go as much as almost 600 and even 630+ sometimes.
Best wishes. Thankyoh.
