What will be the job opportunities for a physiotherapist and the payment
A physiotherapist rehabilitates patients by helping them improve their physical movement. They treat people who are injured or disabled in order to recover full function and movement. Its both cure and prevention focused, and requires in-depth anatomical and musculoskeletal knowledge. Therapy usually covers:
Exercise
Massage
Stretching
Medication
Physiotherapy colleges generally offer the Bachelor of Physiotherapy(BPT),which requires 50% marks in 10+2 (science stream). Hospitals prefer BPT graduates to B.Sc. graduates for this field; the former is a more in-depth and pertinent course. A one year Diploma in Physiotherapy (DPT) will also grant access into BPT physiotherapy courses. Further studies involve the two-year Master of Physiotherapy (MPT).
Hospital employed physiotherapists may earn Rs. 5000-7000 a month; and can even go up to 1500/day in private practice. Thoughsalariesvary by location and institution and sector, an annual physiotherapy salary ranges between Rs. 74,190 to Rs. 6,02,002.
Hope this helps
It will take at least another 10 years for Physiotherapy to get recognized by general public. People are least aware about this new field in India. In my opinion choosing Physiotherapy is not the wise decision.
Fresher BPTs can get 7000 to 15000 in private sectors. Whereas Post graduates freshers earns around 15K to 20K.
Most hospitals hires BPT graduates to save money.
In short Physiotherapy is not a shining career in India. Situation is more worst in Non-Metro cities.
