Hi
The scope of biotechnology in India is limited. Biotechnology is purely a research based subject, the job opportunities is also limited.
If we talk about the private sector, the pay scale is decent and gets increases with the experience. The companies generally offer salary between 12k to 20k per month at the entry level to a post graduated candidate. The experienced candidate will get more better salary package than this one.
Thanks
Hello aspirant! Hope you are doing well! You have asked a very general question and haven't mentioned any college. If we take in general then Biotechnology is one of the most progressive branch of science that combines mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering and others and leads into creation of a new product or modify an existing one to suit our needs Well the placement depends upon the reputation of the college as well as the performance of the student.
If a candidate is employed as researcher in government sectors, he/she can expect a starting salary of 9000 per month along with government perks/allowances.
In case of Private sector pharmaceutical companies, a higher package can be observed varying from 12,000- Rs. 20,000 per month to an entry-level postgraduate.
With increase in experience level the salary also increases Hope it helps!
Dear Aspirant,
As per my knowledge the salary package the biotechnology students are offered is 3-10 Lpa. It totally depends on the skill point a student has. The Biotechnology course is itself a very unique field to study about. So if you're enough hardworking as well as skilled then surely you can crack a bigger package.

Good Luck!!
Hello,
It has been observed that candidates with a Masters degree in Biotechnology get a better starting salary as compared with students who just have a graduate degree in this field. With an increase in the level of experience, there is abundant scope for getting fatter pay cheques in this exciting and inspiring profession . An entry-level Biotechnologist with less than 1 year experience can expect to earn an average total compensation (includes tips, bonus, and overtime pay) of 389,516 based on 75 salaries. An early career Biotechnologist with 1-4 years of experience earns an average total compensation of 501,855 based on 62 salaries.
Hope this helps you!!
