Dear Sankalan,

There is nothing called passing marks in NEET Exam. In NEET, it is qualifying marks rather which is 50th percentile for general category and 40th percentile for reserved categories. Try to score 550+. Then you'll definitely get a good medical college.
If you want to score good marks in NEET then just follow simple steps -
Clear your basic concepts.
Be thorough with NCERT textbook. Its a must.
Solve previous year question papers.
Take mock tests to assess your progress.
Solve questions from any reference book you prefer for competitive exams
Solve as much as numerical possible.
Use shortcuts to solve to save your time. Formulas to be at your Fingertips.
All the best !

Hello Sankalan :)

As you might be already aware, the cut off for the NEET Exam varies each year so it is better to analyse the past year's results to predict what MIGHT happen in NEET 2018.

Looking at them and analysing the cut off, I would say that if you score above 580 marks, you would be in the safe zone, your chances of getting into a government college increase.

All the best!

Hope this helps.

Namaskar Sankalan. Thank you for asking the question. We at Career 360 will help you to solve queries as possible.

The NEET exam rankings is based on percentile and not percentage. So, the marks that the person at Rank 1 gets decides your rank. Also, the number of students appearing for the NEET exam play a crucial role in judging your rank. Nevertheless, if you know the number of students appearing and subtract it from the number if seats that colleges have in the locality you want to go, you can easily estimate the rank at which you will get the admission.

Hello Sankalan,

As per your query about score to pass neet.. I would like to tell you it varies every year... It depends on lots of factors like difficulty level of paper and number of students getting that mark etc... It also depends on.. It will be different for Government, Private and Deemed medical colleges.... Also it will differ you applying from All india quota 15% or State quota 85%... Cut off of state quota is usually lower than all india quota...

no one can predict such things. We don't know how a student is studying in some distance of this vast country. But there are always some safer scores which can be predicted.

Overall if you want to know if you are on the safer side or not, try scoring 580+.

Hope its helps you.

With the trend of marks being followed and taking into account the cut off of neet 2017, its really difficult to predict about cut off for a particular college.

But i guess you should at least aim for a min. Score 565-570. That will put you in a safe zone. Further more if you need a specific college in west bengal then i would suggest you to check for its last year cut off and aim for 10-20 marks more than that. It will increase your chances of getting that particular college.

All the best

While the minimum cut off marks are always subject to change as they depend on various factors, it becomes a little difficult to predict the precise range of scores needed to get into a medical school of your choice.

However to be on the safer side, you should be targeting a score above 570, do not settle for anything lesser than that.

HI , categories     Range of Marks        Percentile (%)Schedule Tribes    587-82      40                              Other Backward Class  630-82   40                         Schedule Caste     611-82          40                        Unreserved Quota  692-99     50                            Physically Handicap-General    590-90    45                  PH-ST               298-83                    35                                             OBC-PH      492-83               35                                           SC-PH    304-83                   35

This shows the range of marks from each category selected ... Based on gen and percentile sud be about 60 and marks range from 620-560 would be safe ..

All the best !
