Unlike the UKCAT, the BMAT 2018 assesses a combination of aptitude and knowledge testing a broad range of skills across three sections:-
- BMAT Section 1 ( Aptitude & skills)
- BMAT Section 2 (Scientific knowledge & applications)
- BMAT Section 3 (Written communication)

B-MAT question paper consist of the section from Current Affairs,Mathematics, Quantitative Ability, Abstract and Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension,Computer Awareness and management skills.
Current Affairs: The Current Affairs questions are from static General Knowledge, History, Geography, Current Affairs, National and International happenings in the world of politics, business, trade and economy, governance, sports, personalities and awards, books etc.
Mathematics: Mathematics section consist of MCQs of various topics studied till class 10, like Number Systems, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Statistics & Probability
Quantitative Ability: Quantitative Ability section consist of the questions from topics like, Median, Installments and Payments, Partnership, Clocks, Work and Time, Pipe and Cisterns, Lines, Cubes and Cones, Work and Time, Time, Speed, Distance, Partnership, Mode, BODMAS, etc.
Abstract and Logical Reasoning: Abstract and Logical Reasoning section include the questions from topics like Table, Bars, Pie-Charts, Line Graphs, Blood Relations, Puzzles, Arrangements, Data Structures, Series, Coding-Decoding, Clocks and Calendars, Direction.
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension: This section is all about the knowledge of English Language and comprehension skills. The section will have questions from English Grammar and will require candidates to answer questions on the basis of given passages, fill in the blanks, word meaning, different form of word usage etc.
Computer Awareness and management skills: This is all about the basic knowledge of computer and flair for business and management.
